TDISH: She Took an Axe

On June 1, 1927, one of the most famous reputed killers died of pneumonia in her home in Fall River, Massachusetts.  Many American school children known the rhyme: “Lizzie Borden took an axe/And gave her mother forty whacks./When she saw what she had done,/She gave her father forty-one.”  The infamous 1892 axe murders at the Borden home in Fall River remain one of the well-known unresolved murders in U.S. history, though the popular imagination has Lizzie convicted.
